Originally written as a single-volume work, owing to printing constraints it has been divided into two volumes.  Neither is stand-alone.  Dr. Dearing’s original translation of the Gospels with commentary is arranged chronologically in Volume 1.  (Where the narratives overlap, he explains his choice of source material and discusses the similarities and differences among the texts.)  Over 200 pages of footnotes as well as the Index of Translations, which enables readers to look up passages by Gospel, chapter and verse, are found in Volume 2.
